I know, I know. Sounds too simple, right?! Here's a little secret: Nutrition does not have to be complex. The key is SUPPORT. And I've got plenty of that for you, truly.
You feel anxious around social events that involve food, TikTok is telling you a million "right" ways to be healthy, your mood shifts every time you look in the mirror, and you're feeling completely overwhelmed. You're craving support with your nutrition concerns, but you don't know where to look, what to change, or who to trust.
Do you find yourself constantly thinking about food—whether it’s what to eat, how much to eat, or what to avoid? Do meals feel stressful, whether it’s due to rules, sensory sensitivities, or fears about food and your body? Are you feeling stuck in patterns that leave you physically or emotionally drained? If you relate to any of these, you’re not alone. Seeking support can be life-changing, and you don’t have to navigate this journey by yourself. You are worthy of a relationship with food and your body that feels peaceful and sustainable.
I firmly believe you know your body best. I also know personal nutrition can feel tricky to navigate. Whether you're facing a missing or irregular period, PCOS, thyroid complications, GI symptoms, high cholesterol, acid reflux, and/or just want some general nutrition support, I've got you covered. I see you as a whole person, not what health situation you're facing. Let's get curious about supporting you and your needs.
An easy, 1-page Google form to let me know who you are, what you're looking for, and what kind of insurance you have. This form serves as the starting place for what will be a beautiful journey together!
I see your form come through and get oh so excited to say hello! I use your preferred contact method (email or phone) to reach out and touch base about working together.
We get the flow started! You will be given access to my patient portal as well as the Zoom link to your session. The first session is for getting to know you, your health and nutrition history, and your goals.
We continue to meet up on a regular schedule (this will look different for each individual) and we talk about all of the things that are supportive to your healing/growth. The work isn't "easy", but we take things at your pace and tailor everything we do to your unique needs.
An iced-latte even when it’s cold, let’s have a cozy night kind of gal.
I know the food and body obsessed (diet culture) world out there can be overwhelming. And at the same time, I know the immense freedom that can come from improving your relationship with food. I'm constantly inspired by the beauty that comes from the hard work my amazing clients are doing to heal and grow.
Over the years, I have spent my entire education and career learning the research and listening to others lived experiences. I stand by the title of being a “life-long learner” and strive to continue to grow as a practitioner forever and ever. I practice from a Health at Every Size (HAES®), Weight-Inclusive, and Non-Diet lens. My approach is rooted in providing compassionate, collaborative, autonomous care. There is no one-size-fits all approach to anything in life, including nutrition. I am here to listen, meet you where you're at, and be your advocate.

Goode Nutrition sees each human as a whole person with unique, individual needs. Melissa's practice is built on compassion, meeting you right where you're at, and building a trustworthy, meaningful connection. Her approach is rooted in a non-diet, weight-inclusive lens. This means that the work you do together will be collaborative, creative, and autonomous, guiding you to make empowering decisions sans restrictive diets, a focus on weight/appearance, or taking away your favorite foods. She's here to lift you up and make you feel seen, heard, and cared for.
"Melissa is a dietitian, yes, but she's not focused on what you're eating, tracking calories, or asking how often you eat your broccoli.
She's focused on the whole picture of your relationship with food, and what factors have contributed to that relationship. She creates a safe place to delve into current or past food rules, mantras, trends, and experiences, and gives you the tools to implement new habits in the future. The focus is on health and happiness, not rules and restrictions."
An eating disorder is a serious mental illness that are diagnosed by various genetic, biological, environmental, and social factors. Disordered eating is a more broad term that describes irregular relationships with food, body, and exercise. If not taken seriously disordered eating can turn into a diagnosed eating disorder. Both terms warrant consistent, attentive care and treatment.
Yes! I am currently in-network with the following insurance companies: Aetna, Anthem, BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, Sana benefits and United Healthcare. I am able to see patients virtually in the following states: CA, AZ, CO, TX, NY, NJ, MI, OR, CT, VA, AK.
**Note: Not all insurance plans offer nutrition benefits (but many do!). If this ends up being the case for you, I am more than willing to provide a superbill for you to submit for out-of-network care.
Currently, Goode Nutrition functions 100% virtually. This allows me to expand my care across multiple states, wooh! I invite all of my clients to show up wherever/however they feel comfortable on calls.
All sessions take place over a HIPAA-secure video platform. Additional session information such as forms, appointment scheduling, etc. is done through my EHR platform, Healthie.
This question is tricky because everyone’s care looks different. The timeline of our work together varies based on where we're starting, what we're talking about, how often we can meet, and many other factors. While I can't provide an exact end-point, I do consistently check in with my clients to evaluate where they are at in the care journey. A very rough picture of working together may look like meeting every week to every other week for 6-12 months. Some will need longer, more continued support (which is perfectly okay!).
Goode Nutrition works with teenagers 14+ and adults.
*For parents looking for support with their teenager, please note we highly recommend/encourage your participation in treatment/care for any nutrition concerns, but especially eating disorders/disordered eating. Parents may be encouraged to have their own calls with the RD and/or join calls with their child throughout the care process.*
